If you are, as myself, tired of searching in vain replacement for those pesky squeaky suspension sounds even on a brand new supercar, as if a leakage is new meta, you'll probably like this mod.
How to install:
1. Open "OpenIV"
2. Go to:
2.1. If you want to replace original files: x64/audio/sfx/RESIDENT.rpf
2.2. If you want to replace modded files: mods/x64/audio/sfx/RESIDENT.rpf (recommended)
- Always backup you files in case of something breaks (so you can revert changes back)
3. Find "vehicles.awc" and right click and choose "Export to openFormats (.oac)".
4. Choose destination (I usually export on the Desktop so it is easily accesible)
5. Drag and drop (or coppy and paste) with replacement all the files from this archive into the folder that was created together with file "vehicles.oac" (folder called "vehicles")
5.1. Check if the replacement was successful (press combination of keys Ctrl F and paste "SUSPENSION" (ignore "PNEUMATIC" onces as I didn't replace them because I don't know how would they sound in real life nor I used any car with such suspensions in the game (if you want, you can try replacing them too just by copying files with "UP" and "DOWN" in the name from the archive and renaming them into "PNEUMATIC SUSPENSION UP 1/2/3 and "PNEUMATIC SUSPENSION DOWN 1/2/3" (overall 6 files). But I am not sure wether it'll work because I didn't test it myself)))
Upd: it works.
6. Turn the "Edit mode" in the "OpenIV", if it was not already active (somewhere near the top right orner of the program) and drag and drop, (or alternatively, press "New" tab on the top and then click "Import openFormats"). It will automatically replace "vehicles.awc"
7. Done! For me it worked perfectly, but sometimes game can not load first time (maybe this is because caching or something else, I don't know), but after first succesful start I didn't notice any problem.

@grespoyer - This mod gets rid of the clonk sound when driving over curbes and land after falling, Right?
@bmw740il I didn't notice, for me everything is working:
01) when I cross red curbs I hear the sound
02) when I fall after a stunt - there is a sound
Please check if it is what you mentioned that I recorded test-video about: https://youtu.be/sUiHUoMdBoI
I wonder if theres is a possibility to get rid of the bumping sound when driving over potholes, curbes etc. Those sounds are annoying as hell. I know your mod does something else. I checked the sounds for bump and clonk when you drive over potholes, curbes etc. Is that somethimg that can be fixed with another mod?
@bmw740il you can just find this sound in the vehicle.awc file, tell me the name of it, and I'll send you silenced version of it. Or, alternatively, you can do it yourself by extracting this file as written in readme, open any DAW, silence it and export, then convert it into PCM using python script that I mention in the readme file and replace it. Maybe that'll do. Also, although I didn't try it myself, you can redact .oac file by finding that sound and change his headroom to different values and then replace vehicle.awc in the gamefolder with that file.
*but remember always make a backup.
@grespoyer is there a way to eliminate the sound of shifting gears like from park to drive as well as manually changing gears if someone was to have manual transmission mod
@jrem7315 by silencing it (extracting the sound, make it -48dB and replacing it)
@grespoyer ok are you going to release that? That’s in the same file location as this mod correct?
@jrem7315 If you can send me the link of the video where I can find the sound you would like to hear in-game instead of the default one - I'll make transmission-shift mod. It should be in the same file, yeah.
